If you’re following along, you may have noticed I’ve been at a hault. There’s no explination other than I’m new to consistent blogging. Last month I joined several others in my Young Living community and dove into the My Healthy Day Challenge. It was eye-opening, and I learned a lot about eating clean. I felt energized with 4 workouts per week. But after successfully completing this milestone, I admittedly caved. “My “diet” is over. Now I can celebrate!” Enter Superbowl Sunday. Pizza, dip, chips, cheese, cookies, some veggies, more chips. What!? Yea, I’m not proud. I ashamedly stepped on the scale and to my UTTER disappointment had put on about 5 lbs! I celebrated my accomplishment so nonchalantly, and honestly feel defeated.

I am not trying to hide anything here. Rather, I’m stating the TRUTH. I just went on vacation and had more cheat meals than I care to admit. When I arrived back in town I just felt unhealthy. I went to bed Sunday night without dinner. I wasn’t hungry. And to my surprise (and delight), I woke up at 5:30 a.m. for a bootcamp class that turned into a private training session. Living a healthy lifestyle is not about good choices here and there. It is about consistency. It’s about determination. It’s will power. It’s saying “no” (and “yes”) to become the best version of you!

I am thankful for friends and family who love me no matter my slip ups. I adore my Young Living community for rooting me on and being the best encouragers. My Healthy Day {Days 1-3}

Today marks the 3rd day of the My Healthy Day challenge, and I’m feeling good! I admittedly caved and ate a small piece of dark chocolate tonight. But gosh…if that’s the biggest snafu I’ve encountered in 3 days, I’d say I’m right on track! Here’s a look at my meal plans and exercise routines.

Day 1 – 1/5

Breakfast: Smoothie (2 scoops Young Living Balance Complete, 1 banana, 4 frozen strawberries, 1 cup raw spinach, 1 cup almond milk); coffee with 1 T. half and half

Lunch: Salad of Romaine, walnuts, goat cheese, dried cranberries, grilled chicken and balsamic vinaigrette; potato and leek soup; a handful of Nut Thins

Snack: 2 cups Skinny Pop Black Pepper popcorn

Dinner: Chopped Thai Salad with the BEST DRESSING!

Workout: 1-hour Zumba class at my local gym

Day 2 – 1/6

Breakfast: Smoothie (1 scoop Young Living Balance Complete, 1 banana, 4 frozen strawberries, 1 cup raw spinach, 1 cup water); coffee with 1 T. half and half

Lunch: leftover Thai chopped salad

Snack: Snap Pea crisps; 1 apple

Dinner: Jason’s Deli 1/2 Mediterranean wrap and 1 cup vegetarian vegetable soups with a side of fruit plus extra strawberries

Workout: 10 minutes of rowing + 15 minutes on elliptical + bicep curls + crunches

Day 3 – 1/7

Breakfast: Smoothie (2 scoops Young Living Balance Complete, 1/2 frozen banana, 1 cup raw spinach, 1 T organic cocoa powder, 1 T almond butter, 1 cup almond milk); black coffee

Snack: 1 banana + 1 T natural peanut butter; La Croix sparkling coconut water

Lunch: Tuna and Salmon Mango Avocado Spring rolls from Central Market; Snap Pea crisps

Snack: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Lara Bar

Dinner: Spaghetti squash with grilled chicken, peas, and pesto

Dessert: 2 squares dark chocolate

Workout: 1-hour Intermediate Vinyasa Yoga class

I averaged just under 2000 calories a day and burned an average of 300 calories, so my intake has been around 1,700. I am right on track to lose my goal of 30 pounds by May!

I hope this gives you some healthy meal ideas and encourages you to set out for any goal that you have! It will be worth it!

My healthy Day

Hello and Happy New Year! If you’re like me, you set resolutions every year only to find yourself right where you started. Well, this year will be different! I am determined!

My amazing Young Living Team is embarking on a health challenge, and I have decided to participate. My goal is to lose 10 lbs. in the next 30 days of this challenge and continue with the ultimate goal of losing 30 lbs! I am feeling good. Just yesterday I went grocery shopping and bought an enormous amount of fresh produce. I chopped my way into making a delicious Thai cashew salad tonight using my new Magic Bullet for the dressing. Tomorrow I plan to make a smoothie for breakfast with my new toy. 🙂 Here is more information on the MY HEALTHY DAY challenge.

I am using Young Living Products to assist me in losing weight. Balance Complete is a meal replacement powder I will mix into my morning smoothies. It packs a ton of nutrients and vitamins and just has 190 calories per serving. I will take one pack of Slique Slim packs 45 minutes before a light lunch and one pack 45 minutes before a nice, balanced dinner. These capsules help in managing satiation. My goal is to drink AT LEAST half my weight in water to which I will add refreshing grapefruit oil. This aids in helping one to feel full. Last, but certainly not least, I will work out at least 4 times per week. I just joined a gym and am looking forward to a Zumba workout tomorrow!
